Lab Tests Online Passes 5 Million Mark

March 18, 2004

March 18, 2004--Lab Tests Online hosted its 5-millionth visitor last month as the site experienced a surge in traffic. Monthly traffic has increased by 30% since last fall.

This is a milestone that confirms what many of us in the laboratory profession have known for a long time, said D. Robert Dufour, M.D., a member of the Lab Tests Online Editorial Board. Patients and their families have needed a credible resource where they could learn about lab tests and get their questions answered. Lab Tests Online fills that need.

The site typically sees an increase in traffic at the start of each calendar year, but the increase this year was greater than expected, thanks in part to Prevention magazines recommendation of Lab Tests Online as one of the smartest health sites on the web. The mention appears in the March issue of the magazine.

The graph above illustrates the daily growth in traffic since October 1. March traffic is projected to reach 347,000 visitors, which would be an increase of 100,000 over the October total.

At the current pace, AACC expects the site will host close to 4 million visitors in 2004 alone.
