Web Marketers Honor Lab Tests Online

September 13, 2005--Lab Tests Online has been awarded the 2005 Outstanding Web Site award by the Web Marketing Association (WMA).  Judges in the awardWMA Award logo competition cited the sites strong concept and content, saying that it has an innovative message and a great place on the Net.

Launched in 2001 by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), Lab Tests Online serves as a vital resource for laboratory test information for patients and their families. Busy medical professionals also use the site for quick reference.  Frequently updated with new information, the site currently describes more than 200 tests and provides insights into a range of related laboratory topics, including screening recommendations, reference ranges, and genetic testing.  Content on the site is reviewed and approved by a panel of laboratory professionals from 15 laboratory organizations.

A syndicated column called Ask the Lab offers local newspaper readers access to the sites content in a question-and-answer format.  A version of Lab Tests Online adapted to the United Kingdom was launched there in 2004 (www.labtestsonline.org.uk).  Translated versions of the site are being developed in German, Italian, and Spanish.  
 
WMA was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and web development.  More than 2100 web sites from 33 countries entered this years competition.  Judges in the WebAward competition evaluated the sites on the seven criteria: design; innovation; content; technology; interactivity; copywriting; and ease of use.  In winning the award, Lab Tests Online garnered at least 60 out of a possible total of 70 points.  The actual total is not disclosed by WMA.

The WebAward Competition's judges include members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, content providers and webmasters.
