Lab Tests Online-UK Records Its One Millionth Visitor

February 13, 2006

Lab Tests Online-UK, the first international spin-off of the popular Lab Tests Online web site, recorded its one millionth visitor since the site launched in June 2004.  The milestone was reached on February 4 after traffic to jumped more than 40% in January.  The first month of the year saw traffic soar to 107,000 visitors.

Published in the UK by the Association for Clinical Biochemistry (ACB), Lab Tests Online-UK provides the British public with the same award-winning content as the original US version of the site, but in a presentation adapted for differences in language use and medical policy and practice.  ACB has worked closely with the National Health Service, which has participated in promotional efforts and which runs the NHS Direct Online.  LTO-UK is extensively linked with this essential online health information service.  The collaboration between the government and LTO-UK has been vital to the sites growth, and will continue with future funding to come from the NHS Electronic Library for Health.

Traffic to the US site also rose dramatically in January, with the combined traffic of both Lab Tests Online sites falling a little short of the one million mark for the month. At the same time, the Lab Tests Online network of sites will soon grow by three, as sites under development in Germany, Spain, and Italy are nearing launch-readiness.
