Despite the Internet’s global reach, there is still value in “localizing” content for specific populations. In the case of Lab Tests Online, this involves adapting existing information to a particular country’s language, policies, practices, and public health issues. We have taken our first step in this direction through a partnership with the Association of Clinical Biochemists in the United Kingdom to create Lab Tests Online-UK, which has been launched specifically to address patient needs in the UK. As a result, users of both sites may find some differences between the original site and the new one, but the information comes from the same, credible source as always – laboratory professionals who perform the tests.
